velocity meter with GPS module, PIC16F877A and an LCD(2*16)

Hello everybody;
I am going to make a velocity meter.I have GPS module which is u-blox RCB-4H, a
PIC16F877A and an LCD. But, I am new about GPS and i dont know how can i program PIC to read NMEA data strings.
I need only velocity to show in lcd and i am working on GPVTG data string.
Can anyone help me about how can i read the NMEA data strings with CCS C software??
