I've tried to report this on the TomTom.com website, but something seems
to be wrong on the page that prevents submission of the bug. There's a
surprise!
This is when attempting to update the Western Europe map on a TT One v2
with a Lexar 2G sd card.
I've fixed this but others may not be able to.
Using TThome to update to the latest map notified to me recently the map
downloaded ok but stuck around 3/4 of the way through the install with
the flashing icon on TT device screen no longer flashing. Problem
appeared several tries, sticking at either cnode.dat or faces.dat. The
problem might be that the new map was 1.17gig, compared with the
previous map of under a gig. Yes I had a good 2 gig card fitted with
plenty of free space. The fix that worked was to specifically remove
what was left of the failed map install, then use the add a map button
to put the downloaded map on the card, and finally to re-update to
complete the quickgpsfix, traffic cams, &c.

The new TomTom Home seems to be more "intelligent" to "replace" maps.
However you need to have the space required on your SD for a successfull
operation (you can manage your device via TomTom Home and free
unnecessary voices i.e they are copied to your PC).

On older device (with an older TomTom Home) the only way was to erase
the map folder before updating. Keep a copy of it specially for the
mapsettings where are stored favorites...

Now Europe is so huge that there are differents maps schemes to select
to be able to store on the "small" 2GB internal memory of new devices.
