When I try to change the car symbol in my TomTom XL, I press the
Change Car Symbol.
TomTom shows the Blue triangle as Default.
I press the new Car symbol that I wish to use and the Screen then pops
back to the main screen exhibiting Car Symbol Changed in the top right
corner, but the car symbol on the screen still shows as the Blue
triangle.

Any thoughts on how I can successfully change the Car Symbol ?

The car symbol only works in one view. I think it's the 3D view. I don't
have mine nearby to check right now. Try switching to another view. Also, it
may only work while on a "route". Not sure if it works just cruising along
the map.

It seems that it only works on 3D mode which I had not previously
used.
I switched to 3D mode and the car appeared. Will try it on the road
later.
