If you want to worry about things like this then I have the perfect
solution; don't exceed the speed limit. I've found this to be 100%
reliable in avoiding speeding tickets/loss of licence over the past 40
years.
And having your data given to the police is the least of your worries.
At the rate IT is getting cheaper and more powerful, I'd be amazed if
there aren't licence plate recognition devices at every junction
within 10 years. Then the police won't only know where the speed
limits are being exceeded, they will know precisely which vehicle was
doing it, and when and by whom. Why do you think the French have just
introduced laws banning the hiding of your face in public places?
And all of this is before you even consider the mandatory addition of
GPS devices to new cars.
Big Brother might not have arrived in 1984, but he'll certainly get
here by 2034.
