Hi,

I'm working on an embedded system with an integrated GPS receiver.

Reading the NMEA protocol I get the navigation data but my problem is knowing when the GPS transmits a valid time after cold start.

My system rarely wants correct position but often wants the correct time. Having to wait for correct position just to know clock is valid will drain unnecessary power from the battery.

Does anybody know if there is any parameters for clock validity in NMEA?

/ T
