Would anyone know if there is a UK tide table add on / download for my
    Garmin GPS 12XL?

    Thanks JC

Don't think so. You would get the facility with mapping GPS's loaded with
the Bluechart software, such as the GPSMAP 60C/CS.

Interesting thought! How do you envisage that it would display the
    information?

I'm not saying it's impossible - 'cos it may have some hidden functionality
that I'm not aware of. But I'm struggling to see how it would do it.

Most of the downloadable data I have seen has been in the form of waypoints
and routes/tracks, which can be displayed as points or lines on a map. I'm
not sure how it would handle cyclically varying data - such as high tide
time - relating to particular point.

Tides are incorporated into Garmin Bluecharts, but as he can't load
Bluecharts into his 12XL, he can't display them. A mere £600 or so would buy
him a Garmin GPSMAP 60C plus the Atlantic Bluecharts software, and he would
be happy then. Or would he?
