    Hi All,
I was reading posts from a GPS forum and someone was trying to get a demo
unit 2620 out of the demo mode - to be used as a normal unit.

I figure that someone from here will have the answer. Thanks

  2. If it is anything like other Garmins... go to the Satellite page press menu
and select GPS On or OFF or Demo or whatever else is in the list.

Or turn it off then turn it on again

    (It isn't a Navman!)

I would think the 2610 functions the same way as the 2620 so instead of
turning it off and on if you are on the map page click menu on remote
control and click on use outdoors or push menu on the unit and touch
use outdoors at top left. Jerry

I think the question was how to get out of the store demo mode which is
different from the indoors simulation mode. I've seen this question
elsewhere too and I haven't a clue. I can't get in the demo mode with my
2610 so it's hard to figure out how to get out of it.

This is just a guess but I'd think that the store demo mode is a
different firmware. You might want to try downloading the latest
firmware from garmin and upload it to the unit and see if it will accept
    it.

As far as I know all Garmins have a Test Mode, which is accessed by pushing
a combination of buttons (or the click-stick in the case of the higher spec
etrex's) whilst powering up. This displays the current software version.
Dale's GPS site has a page on Garmin secret startup pages which may be some
    help.

I don't think the test mode is the same thing.

Try turning it on and leaving it outside with a clear view of the sky for
    about 10-15 minutes.

It isn't - I was suggesting that the OP use test mode to check his current
firmware revision before wasting time trying to update it.
