Hi
I calculated a route with a Nuvi 2460lmt which took about 1.5 minutes.
Calculated the same route with Nuvi 760 took about 9 seconds.
Anuy ideas why the 2460 is so slow?

Processor speed (the lack of it) is a likely candidate.

Any reports on Garmin's many products tabulating such aspects of them?

Can anything be made of the model numbers? 1xxx, 2xxx, etc?

If you're not running firmware version 2.50, it'd be worth trying
the upgrade (even though route calculation speed isn't
specifically mentioned):

No idea, but it has caused me to rethink plans to "upgrade" from my
760.

Did you try just one route? If so, it is meaningless by itself. Could
have been a problem at boot-up, start location from last shutdown,
etc.

Turn if off, restart it and try a few routes and get back to us.

My 2370 is far faster than my old Nuvi 350

Because of one report of one instance from one person on a newsgroup?
Better get rid or your car too. I read that one just like it broke
down once and left the driver stranded.

"caused me to rethink my plans" is different from "having a thought
cross my mind".

"Caused me to rethink my plans" is the actual overreaction.
