I saved several waypoints in Northern Ontario on a Magellan 2000xl (12
channels) with the datum set at CANAD (short for Canada?). When i
reset the Datum to WSG84 back at home to match my topo map the UTM
coordinates change - approx 700 metres north). Are these now accurate
for my map?

The unit should convert the coordinates according to whatever datum you have
set.

Would someone be willing explain this datum conversion process? I have my Oregon 550 set to WGS84. Does that mean any other map datum I may use will convert to this?
