I sent TT a nice email asking them for a simple program that will enable
users to save our fav places to a file on our computers, that we can then
upload to our devices whenever needed. Especially when an update makes them
disappear. Before you say it, I don't want to use poi instead. I also
suggested that they could do the same with other companies apps favs, to
encourage folks to switch over to TT. Of course I got a form letter response
indicating that no human actually read or considered my idea. This company
has the poorest customer service I've ever seen.

Doesnt mean that no human will ever read it after that.

You need to get out more. Plenty dont even bother with an automatic acknowledgement either.

You obviously have never dealt with TT online support have you. The human,
not machine, who reads the email, picks out what buzz words they think are
important and reply to those not the email you have actually sent. The only
way to get a proper human interaction is to phone them and even that can be
dire

On my XL340S my Favorites are stored in a file called mapsettings.cfg.
Hook your device to your computer and search for this file. Copy it to
your computer and then copy it back to the device after an update and
you'll have your Favorites back!

Should TT change the format of the "mapsettings.dat" file in any future map
updates JKConey will be "stuffed". Using a POI category is the only sure
route to successfully transferring Favorites. Copying the old
mapsettings.dat file to the new map and using TTHome2/Operate my Device to
add a Favorite (which forces a re-write of mapsettings.dat in the "new"
format) doesn't work in all instances

Been doing that for years with TT products, but it doesn't work very
well anymore.
