I need a SD card for my TomTom Go 720

Is there any 'special' one or is just 'soup of the day' OK?

Standard cards are fine. Just watch out for fakes on ebay.

Hi.

Even SDHC if the bootloader is recent enough (I guess 5.5105 and above).

OK, thanks. Bought a 4GB from Currys (sorry!)

I just pushed it in and connected to my PC, it asks whether I want to
connect to the TomTom or the SD card.
I chose SD
Now it's downloading "TomTom application for Go520/720/920

Does that mean I'll now have two versions of it ????

So, I have TT Go app and USA maps on the SD card and goodness knows what
plus European maps on the main TomTom memory.

When or if I go to the USA, how do I access these maps as they don't seem
available ATM?
