Roadmate 700 problem

My roadmate 700 is giving me a fit.
It will light up the screen and sometimes won't go any further. Sometimes it
will ask for the user and then stops.Sometimes it gets to the "address' and
then locks up.
Any suggestions?

If it can't do a cold reset, or that doesn't help then a hot REPLACEMENT
would probably be in order.
