I have the above unit and saw that there was a map "update" for it. I
found out that it is Q3 2006. That seems like a rather old "update" to
me. Is that kind of time lag normal? TIA for any info.

Before giving someone a piece of your mind, be sure you have enough to
spare.

It's normal for Magellan.

I got an email from Magellan yesterday touting the "NEW" map update for my
3000T. Without thinking, I went ahead and ordered it. Today I went to my
online account and saw it was the exact same map update I had purchased and
installed in November of 2007! I called Tech Support today and got right
through. The rep canceled my order. It is my fault for not checking first
but why send out such an email 6 months 'late'?

When we go fishing we call it "trolling".

In other words, a day late. . . er . . . I mean two years late, and a
dollar short. Oh well.

Governments, like diapers, must be changed often and for the same
reasons.
