Reset Garmin nuvi 200

My nuvi 200 switches OFF when I hit the "Address" button.

I have updated it with the latest SW (ver 5.00) and tried to HARD RESET it,
but it looks like I cannot hard reset it.

I press the reset button for up to 30 seconds (it switches OFF when I hit
the reset) but it does not reset - it restarts when I switch it on again
with my default language etc etc.

What do I do? Without being able to type in an address its of very little
use!!
