I have an old Nuvi 650 that has served me well. I want to upgrade but I need
a model that will accept the flat snap in plug that the 650 used. It is not
a USB type.
The reason is I have mine hard wired on my motorcycle & don't want to
reroute a new cable. Way too much work.
Any ideas?

If that is the only restriction then why not make a small adapter using
the plug you already have wired to a socket of your choice?

Yes, or search for "mini usb adapter" or "micro usb adapter". I believe
the nüvi 650 power/sync cable has a Mini Male USB plug on the device
end. You'd be looking for an adapter with a Mini Female USB connector
for your existing cable on one end and a male plug on the other end
that is compatible with your new GPS unit. Try Google and eBay; the
adapter should be less than $10.

On the 650, when the USB port has a cable attached, the unit goes into
computer sync mode & will not function as a GPS.

My 1490T uses USB connector and íts not a good choice for motorcycle use.
Not of lacking of the adapter as I have a special adapter for motorcycle,
but the USB connector won't hold very firm, and very easy to break.

Same with the anti-glare, Garmin uses some type of cheapie anti-glare
which wear out much quicker than I have expected. For car it's still great,
but for motorcycle use, I have only used around 5 times and the anti-glare
is much weaker now (still be able to see but barely).

My Nuvi 765T has the flat snap-in plug that snaps into the unit, not the
cradle, if that is what you mean.
My wife's 885T has the USB plug type.

I wish they included the wires for audio in that cable, rather than
just power. Anyone of a similar cable that has leads for both power
and audio?

Maybe you should have mentioned the audio connection in your original
post, or were we supposed to assume what you needed.
