recommendations needed

I want to get sub-meter (2-meter, max), post-processed kinematic data.
I want to
spend <$1,000.00. I already have a Dell Axim X5 2003.

Is there a software/hardware combo that will get me where I want with
simple RINEX output? Once I get a RINEX file, I can go from there.

I have looked at a Trimble Pathfinder XC Compact Flash GPS Card
Receiver, but if it requires Trimble software to collect data, it will
likely be out of my range.

All help appreciated.
