<Bluetoot would be nice but not if it cannot be switched off and drains the battery.

We have had great success with the AGL3080 (they have a website). \'a360 ish. AA batt but you could use rechargeables. Adjustable down to 1 sec, non bluetooth, internal storage wirh driverless USB conn'. Don't know if there's anything better than SIRF 3. We chose this one principally because of the lack of bt, saves battery, simple and for on aircraft use. Had no particular issues with time to start (about the same as them all). Can be used as a USB memory stick. Did a lot of research too!
