Have you recently changed your ID name for some reason?

I have been using bit.ly here for years. I previously used tiny.url and snipurl.

bit.ly gives nice statistics.

I will use the direct URL when it is short enough, although I may slip from time to time.

It isnt clear who you are referring to since you didnt quote anything from him.

Why not always include both ? That way everyone can see the full form
even when they use the short one so they dont have to manually fix the
wrapping of the long form.

Hardly anyone is silly enough to try to remember or type urls.
