supernews.com carries it and has 474 headers from 9/7/2007 thru today's post

Google is worth what you pay in coin of the realm when it comes to Usenet.

It's on EasyNews as well. Remember, Google is not the authority.

I see it listed from my Comcast newsgroup server. Sure enough, I entered
tomtom and alt.satellite.gps.tomtom
popped up!

If, as you say, it's not in the Google archive, then what, pray tell,
is this?
http://groups.google.com/groups/sear...om&qt_s=Search

The fact that the server you use hasn't got it,is the fault of your
server. isc.org is the unofficial official archive of groups.

It's up to each individual news server whether they want to carry a group
or not. Google is not the last word in USENET.

The group exists. Contact your news sever admins and ask them to add
alt.satellite.gps.tomtom
