I have an old magallen 2000 which works great but am looking to upgrade to a
new model. The most valued feature of the GPS 2000 is the GOTO feature. The
fact that I can type in a coord with out setting up a waypoint is great. Are
there any others that have the GOTO that you don't have to set up a
waypoint. I am looking into a sporTrak that a fellow Geocacher is selling at
a great price..

thanks in advance

James

There are many ways to set gotos on the new units. Postion the cursor over a
location - goto a city, street or address - goto a POI or waypoint.

One thing you I haven't seen - goto and then manually enter the coordinates.
To do that, you'll need to first create a waypoint.

On the GPS 2000 they do have a feature that allows you to push the GOTO
button then on this menu there is a Tab for Coord. which allows you to type
in lat. and long. This is the best feature of this older GPS . The only
problem is that it is not WAAS. So the accuracy at times is off, Makes a
short trip to a cache sometime 20-30 minutes longer :-) thanks for the reply

Thanks Cass I will look into that. I am in the middle of purchasing a
sportrak as we speak but I don't think it is a PRO.
