The old Yello etrex H only allowed one to input
a waypoint projection with a distance of
xxx.x km (ie only 100m precision)
and full degrees.

Can anyone tell me whether the etrex 20
(or 30) allow for more precision in either?

It's been my experience that Garmin makes it easy to download manuals,
so if no one provides a quick answer, you might try getting a manual
from them (and then hope that the answer is in the manual!).

I always download manuals when I'm curious about a product -- almost
everyone has downloadable pdfs. I also download the manuals for
everything I buy that might need one -- it's way easier to search a .pdf
file than the same thing on paper.

Likewise.

Sometimes the manual convinces me not to buy a product, and other times
it wins me over...

Thanks, but the manual is quiet on this issue.
It only even mentions projection as part of 'sight 'n go'.
Does it even have a regular projection feature (where one enters the
direction in addition to the distance from any given waypoint)?
