I cannot always get to the Main Menu to access Enter an Address. I
click and click on the maps menu and sometimes get the Main Menu after
a lot of clicking, sometimes not.. It shouldn't be like this, should
it? Should I send it back?

Are you 'clicking' with a fingernail or your finger skin? I find my
fingernail works best. You could try a 'stylus' from a PDA.

Also you can recalibrate, but you do need to use a stylus to
recalibrate, it won't take a finger press to do that.

Before you send it back, have a little patience. These little computers
don't multi-task very good at times. Be sure you have given it sufficient
time to finish the boot up process and then if you press an icon and HEAR a
click....WAIT for the response......instead of continuing to click away.

Now, if you press the icon and don't hear a click, then the "fat finger" may
be the problem.

Magellan has a utility to recalibrate the touch screen ???? I don't think
so.
Pretty sure MY 4250 doesn't.

As Pete mentioned, try the touch screen test.

Both my 1412 and Crossover has a diagnostics for the touch screen test. Its
under systems then diagnostics on my Crossover, my son in law has my 1412 so
I can't tell you how to get it in that one. I can't imagine Magellan not
having it in all of their product line. Not saying they favored some over
others and yours may not. You'd be surprised at how easy the screen is to
touch to the finger nail after this.

I bought this computer from my friend yesterday he got a new dell, mine took
a big dump. I forgot to change the names in the reader. I think I have it
corrected now. Never the less there is a touch screen test give it a try.

Sorry for the mistake. I told you I would ship the computer ready to go and
I forgot to delete my server account. Thanks for the head up on teranews it
is nice to have binaries now.

Your power supply was bad its not worth fixing. Email me I forgot to put
your address in my new computer.

Mine does... I'll look it up the next time I get a chance. It is in
the system section, IIRC, it was clear in the menu what it was.

Of course they could have either added it later, or removed it on some
units! <bg> It works exactly like the Windows CE touch screen
calibrate (four corners).

My Magellan 4212 does have a recalibration funtion under the system
menu option.
