Printing Maps with Directions from MapSource

Is it my imagination, or was it possible to print a map of a route (from
MapSource) which included the directions below the map? I could swear
that I was able to do this in the past, but I can't seem to figure out
how to do it now. I know that I can print the route map separately from
the directions, but it can be much more convenient to have them on one
piece of paper. I checked nRoute (v 2.7.6), as well, but couldn't find
any way to print both on one page (I was using MetroGuide USA version 4
while in nRoute, which was the last MetroGuide version to support
auto-routing, so I didn't get the "Product Restrictions" dialog box).
Did Garmin change this feature or am I just imagining this? TIA

I did it just last week as I wanted to check I could do it en route
from my camper van. (My brother plans to cycle from the north to the
south of France in 50 mile stages with me in the "support" van. With
Mapsource I can make him up a daily route/directions printout). So I
shall be buying a neat compact printer to take with me.

With the map/route displayed (or a part of it) just use the normal
File/Print (or Print Preview) to print the screen map.

If you want to print the directions display the Route
Properties/Directions and just underneath is a box "Print Directions".

They won't end up on the same page though!

Sorry, I was little hasty with my reply. I see now that you do know
how to print the maps/directions. Still no idea how to get both on one
sheet of printout though!

Why not print the map, see how much of the page it takes up. Then copy
directions to notepad or such, page down so thet there is empty space
above instructions equal to the map size, reinsert the paper and print.

In a word... expediency.

If I really wanted to have both the map and directions, I could do so in
the manner you suggest - but it's really more work than it's worth (for
me)... it's far simpler to print the map separately from the directions
and then get on with life.

What I was wondering was, did MapSource (or nRoute) ever have the
capability to print both map and directions on one page, or did I just
imagine this?

Galoubet-

My computer has a "Page Setup" under the File menu in most applications.
One thing it lets me do is change the "Scale:" factor from 100 percent
to some other value, such as 75 percent. By doing so, it may be
possible for a document that is just a bit to large for a single sheet,
to print on one sheet reduced in size.

Check your computer's document preference and print menus to see if you
have such a scale factor. If so, it would be an easy way to fit it all
one page.
