Anyone know if there is any info out there for putting in info relevant for
caravanners? I'd like to avoid goat tracks etc. when I'm out and about :-)

That's mot a POI file you are looking for.

What you need is an HGV routing option. If your SatNav hasn't got that
then there's not much you can do about it.

Oh, just remembered. Select "quickest" rather than "shortest" and choose
to avoid unpaved roads. My Nuvi 200 series does that. StreetPilot had
HGV routing options. Not sure about other models/ranges.

I don't think POI have anything to do with it. In general POI is nothing
but a pre-created address

And GPS is different with Crystal-Ball it only can point to the
destination, not knowing when the goat will appear. IOW, if you have some
idea there may be Goat X-ing then choose different route.

The Garmin Dezi probably does what you want:

Note that the name is dezL, not dezI, with a long mark on the e.

They seem to want you to pronounce it "Diesel".

OK, duly noted. I've always misread the 'l' for an 'i' for some reason.

Lousy font :-)

Arial & other sans-serif fonts are very popular, but lower-case l and
upper-case i look alike. I also have trouble with rn (that's r and n)
versus m in those fonts.

BTW, I followed your link out of curiosity, not to find your error - but
once I noticed it I had to throw in my two cents worth :-)

And the article (ad) was interesting. I had no idea what truckers do for
GPS, so thanks for the link. It's always good to get some education.
