Nuvi760 using blue tooth question

I have my nuvi set up to work with my LG920 when I check under
messages text inbox I find all the messages which have since been long
deleted from my phone. I see no way to delete them off my Nuvi760. Am
I missing something. Checked the manual and see nothing there
Can some let me know how to do this
