For no apparent reason it just stops "talking". Then one of two things
happens

1) I go into tools and change the language choice is blank. I choose
a language it it starts working again.

2) Tools - language shows a blank setting. Trying to choose a
language, it tells me no languages are installed. The only fix I've
found is to reload the firmware and reset the language.

Anyone else having similar problems?

I had the same problem. I have been able to use the reset to factory
setting rather than a hard reboot to resolve the problem. If you have not
reported this to customer service, please do so -- it helps having a lot of
folks reporting an error.

I have the exact same thing happening. Also, for no apparent reason, all
three available voices (american english) are broken up like the speaker
has a loose wire. When I get home almost every time I do a web update,
it has "changes" for all three voices then the thing works for a while.

I just checked with your wife. She said it works just fine, you just don't
pay attention. You don't pay attention to her when she talks either. You've
learned to block out all female voices because they nag, nag, nag.

Customer support is having me send mine back to them for repair. I will be
curious to see what happens when I get it back.

Yep, I have had the same problem. The solution for me is to do a reset
by holding the on/off switch to the left for about 12 to 15 seconds.
Then select the language and voice that you want.

I did and their response was they would replace the unit which would
take two weeks. That's why I came here first, to see if my problem is
likely the unit or a systemic problem.

I sent mine in and am waiting for the return to see if it fixed the
problem. Probably get it back sometime next week.

I talked to them today and told them that this was not a unit problem
and they admitted they are working on it. A replacement likely will
not help.
