Thinking about upgrading my 255-- I want lifetime traffic and map
updates. The 1450 LMT looks like the lowest cost way to do that.

Anything I'm missing here?

I don't know what your needs are, I just mentioned one thing a lot of
cell phone users use that is missing. See the Specs for things it can
and can't do for your needs.

After an inattention-caused close call or two, I've given up
taking/making calls while driving-- so blue tooth wouldn't be of any
interest to me.

However, I did find the nuvi 1350LMT for $50 less. It has a 4.3" scrseen
rather than the 5" on the 1450, otherwise about the same features. I
think I'd prefer the smaller size unit (which is what I have now) so
that's the way I'll go.

Thanks for the recommendations...

There might be other subtle added features
that the 255 does not have
and therefore they would be totally new to you.
Something like uploading "routes" or other travel related features.
Some are listed in the "compare" matrix,
and some others are just subtle newly added features.

BTW - I have a 255 and the 260 -
and also thinking about the next model.
I too like the smaller size... but the 1450 may have more "stuff".

Nothing!

The 1450 is fine without it!

If you have a cell phone with blietooth, it will allow you to use the
phone hands-free which is a requirement in many states now.

And you may want to buy one hanging on your ear which is usually much
better than from GPS which is pretty much impossible in hi-way with wind
noise from car windows.

I tried once and didn't like it And the Garmin's BlueTooth may not work
with all bluetooth phones.

And getting back to the "old ears" thing, using the GPS as bluetooth
speakerphone means the direction voiceovers are muted while the call
happens. Similarly, if you're using the music player in the GPS instead
of something else, the music gets pauses while the GPS is speaking. And
that headphone jack that seemed useless in a car can actually be used to
feed the music, call audio, and GPS spoken directions into a car stereo
suitably equipped which unifies the whole mess *and* resolves the lack
of bottom-end response that can make the spoken directions harder to
hear.
