Im new to GPS units, and want to purchase my first one. I have the money for
the Etrex Venture, but im not rich. Can anyone tell me if it is worth it to
spend the extra bucks for the Venture model over the basic Etrex model? I
notice the Venture model has this WAAS stuff... what exactly will that do
for me, over the basic model?

Also, I want to link whichever one i get, to my PDA and laptop..... I have a
Palmpilot and a Macintosh Powerbook. Will linking be possible with my
powerbook, seeing as how it only has USB, not Serial inputs?

Thanks a lot!

See my reply under the thread "garmin etrex venturer" - you might
want to look at other models as well as the 'yellow etrex' and the
Venture, depending on your needs.

You'll have to factor in the price of a USB-to-serial adapter,
and you'll have to have suitable MAC software.

Yes the Venture is well worth the extra over the basic eTrex.
Considering that the Venture comes with a PC cable (yellow does not) you
are really not paying extra for the extra features you get over the yellow one.
