The Montana is bigger/heavier than the Oregon/Dakota, it has a bigger,
higher resolution screen.
It uses 3AA batteries, or an optional Li-on battery.
And there is a version of the Montana with a camera.

I think the Montana looks a bit big to use for walking/cycling, it's
probably better for in a vehicle or boat.

I have a Montana 650, was looking at the Oregon. But when the Montana
was released ordered it instead. I would personally say it's the best
hand held Garmin's made to date.

The Montana is the biggest size, it fits great in my hand. Followed by
the Oregon then the Dakota.
Has the largest screen size, is the best screen resolution, and the best
sunlight readable, you can purchase a in-car cradle that has a inbuilt
speaker for voice guidance, other wise the in-built speaker beeps to
alert you. it's rugged, has a 5mp Camera (takes great photo's
Also Geo-tags your photo's, paperless geocaching, connects wirelessly
to other compatible units (for sharing info with other people.
You can set multiple profiles, in-car, geocaching, hiking, boating,
etc, etc. Area Calculation, sun & moon, hunting & fishing, calendar,
stopwatch, alarm clock, calculator, man overboard, waypoint averaging,
sight N go, proximity alarms, screen rotates (horizontally and
vertically), etc, etc.

If you already have Topo Maps, then I would advise you to get the 650,
if not then the 650T comes preloaded with topo maps.

I use a 4gb data card, I have road and topo maps both loaded and have
room to spare. so if your like me a 4gb card will be more than enough.

Hope this helps,
Greg
