Magellon 1700 Successor?

The seven-inch screen on Magellan's 1700 is calling out to me.

7" seems tb a sweet spot between portability and readability.

But I've read that the 1700 does not include additional map
updates beyond the first one - but the trend is for those updates
tb included in later models.

So.... is a 7" successor to the 1700 on the horizon?

Other makes/models?

Apple seems tb coming out with a 7" iPad soon... gotta wonder if
that might be a candidate...
