Yesterday I drove 15 miles along a 6 lane freeway (which is at least 20
years old.) At each exit, Tom tried to get me to get off the freeway and
onto the old 2 lane road. Love him <g>

I have done exactly the same when I had clicked "Avoid motorways" (I'm in
the United Kingdom) inadvertantly. Goodness was I embarrassed when I had
to explain to my wife why we had finished up travelling along minor roads
through a city which had a motorway bypass!!!

Regards

You do that on purpose to show the scenery. ;-)
At least you hjave found why it is importand to check if your trip
rersembles anything you were expecting.

It would be even more emarassing to go to a wrong place. e.g. Deurne
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deurne and there are many other examples.

I often select not to take highways on purpose. e.g. if I need to go to
a meeting in another city, I go there as fast as possible, but on the
way back I will not take the motorway. Instead I drive back enjoying the
landscape and the trip itself. So what if it takes me two or three hours
instead of one.

In fact my whole 6 day holiday was based on that (shameless plug

Listen do you hear them drawing near in their search for the sinners?
Feeding on the power of our fear and the evil within us.
Incarnation of Satan's creation of all that we dread.
When the demons arrive those alive would be better off dead!
