Hi,
Does anyone know if road data is available online anywhere? I'm making
topographical maps from the SRTM data (http://srtm.usgs.gov/), and would
like to add some roads and place names. These are vector maps, so
bitmap data from Maporama and the like is no good. I have used data
from the Digital Chart of the World (http://www.maproom.psu.edu/dcw/),
but I'm looking for something a bit more detailed.

Right now I'm making maps for Tibet, but pointers to map data for other
countries would be interesting too.

Somehow I don't expect the government in Beijing to make Tibet mapping
data easily accessible.
