From the web site:

"We want to ensure that you start driving with the latest map. So if a newer
version of your map is available within 30 days of first using your device,
you can download this map for free using TomTom HOME! Note that in order to
qualify for the latest map guarantee you need to check if a new map is
available within the 30 day period, and you are only entitled to one free
map download. "

At first sight this seems pretty fair - a free update when you first use
your device to ensure that you have the current map(?) and you don't miss
out if your particular device has been on the shelves for 9 months.

At second look it is a bit ambiguous.
I have just bought a refurbished Go 930 from TomTom.
This comes with UK and Europe plus USA maps.

When I started the application within TomTom Home to get the latest update
it showed USA and Europe ticked but when i went further with the install it
asked me to chose which part of Europe I wanted, showing the UK highlighted.

I backed out at this point because I didn't wnat to find that the 'one free
map download' was just one area of the maps included with the device.

I also wondered if space was an issue because the 4Gb memory is nearly full
and to install the latest maps the earlier ones would need deleting first.

Anyway, I've ordered a 4Gb SDHC memory card to provide extra space for maps
(plus music etc. if I want to alter) but I thought I'd check here first to
see if anyone else had hit a similar issue.
The documentation (including the downloadable '.pdf') is not comprehensive.

I also wondered if I could move the USA maps to the memory card so that I
could remove them and replace them with another map set on another memory
card (I'm touring NZ this year).

Cheers

Dave R

Just found
"Note: The latest map guarantee does not apply to the following products:

* maps that came preinstalled on a memory card
* downloadable maps purchased via TomTom HOME or our website
* refurbished navigation devices purchased via the TomTom Outlet Store

Delete Yankland. Can't see anyone wanting to go there anyway!

Is that where you go yank yourself off?

I agree, can't see anyone wanting to go there at all.

Just thank goodness you aren't from France. The people there smell.
Never take showers.
