The JAVAD/Lightsquared consortium claims to have solved the GPS
interference issue. I'm trying to understand that.

Operation are two LTE network channels is apparently conditionally
authorized by the FCC. The upper channel presents difficult technical
challenges for receiver designers. Radio Technical Commission
Aeronautics contends operation there should not be allowed.

Lightsquared has temporally agreed to use only its lower channel
spectrum allowing a filter with a physically realizable shape factor.
That's the 'technical' problem they solved.

Lightsquared contends they will commence operations on their upper
channel in 4-5 years. Has JAVAD, or anyone else, demonstrated a
filter that enables reception of the entire GPS band after that
channel comes on?

That's especially important for continued viability of avionics. Can
200,000 (plus) flying avionics units be Lightsquared hardened by then?

So, I'm not challenging Javad Ashjaee as an engineer, just questioning
him for implying Lightsquared is ready for the 'green light' while not
'coming clean' concerning a complete solution.
