install update maps to mapsource

I have a update map for my gps. I have installed it to my gps but it will not install on my pc. I get a mesage saying installed to gps and to pc with errors. I tried to do it several times and it stays the same. I have mapsource on my pc with other topo maps.Is there something I am doing wrong?
