Headache with Mapsend Topo Canada

Just took delivery of an eXplorist 400 Wilderness Bundle which included
MapSend Topo Canada v1.00e (why I bought it). After tracking down an
error in the ini file which was causing the program to hang at the
splash screen, I finally got things working. The problem, of course, is
that MSTC doesn't export maps in a format that the eXplorist can read.
An earlier post in this forum had a link to Magellan's FAQ for dealing
with this situation (Thank you!), so I diligently followed the
directions. Unfortunately, the process requires the source program
(MSTC) to output an imi file. As far as I can tell, MSTC will only
output img files, which are not recognized by the file converter. I know
that there is an upgraded version of MSTC available, but having just
shelled out for this copy, I am reluctant to double my investment buying
another version of something that should have worked in the first place,
otherwise why bundle it with the unit? If anyone knows of a workaround,
I would be very grateful.
