GPSMap176 not locking on satellite

My GPSMap176 will only find satellites when I physically select "NEW LOCATION" Or only works in AUTOLOCATE mode. Any ideas? I did the master reset thing where you hold the MENU and QUIT keys down while pressing the POWER button, but that did not help??!
