I've just received details of this model by email from Garmin. Currently
I use a 60CSX exclusively for walking, coupled with MemoryMap I find
this great. However I was wondering how good the maps that can be loaded
onto the 62stc are for walking. Anyone from the UK (where I live) any
experience of this GPS? I have cross posted this to UK.Rec.Walking

I recently upgraded from a Vista C to a 62s. I have used the UK OS 1:50 maps and regional OS 1:25 maps (peak district). I have only done a couple ofhikes with it and I am happy with its performance. Its nice to have the detailed maps and I do find myself using the paper maps less and less (stillcarry them for backup :-)).
