GPS In An Aircraft

Hi, I just discovered this group.

I have a TomTom 130 and want to use it on a flight. Unlike my handheld
GPS, it doesn't seem to have a point-to-point mode where you can set
it to just give you a bearing and distance to a destination. Is there
such a mode I can set?

Will the GPS just sit there and constantly recalculate a driving
route, or is it smart enough to know it is not in a car?

I could just bring my Garmin, but I'm trying to travel light.

thanks

It will most likely do the same as when you are on a large private
parking. Point to where the closest road is and still let you know where
you are.

What happens if you fly over the ocean, I do not know. Als best see with
the rules of the company you fly with if you are allowed to take with
you and/or use a GPS. There are the most absurd rules for the sake of
"security" that it would not surprise me if you were not allowed to do
it or people could see you as a terrresist.

I (and you and most normal people) know this is not the case and even
phoning on a plane is harmless.

Some do, but tomtoms dont.

Not if you havent told it to navigate to anywhere.

You can tell it you arent in a car and are walking.

The TomTom wont do what you want. Some other GPSs will tho.

If you want light, quite a few of the high end cellphones have gps capability now.
