I have a 12 year old GPS 2000 handheld device that i want to start using again, trouble is : it takes ages to search for satellites and keeps searching. Its never been the quickest at getting a fix but is it now oudated ???

I have initialized it etc with my correct 6 figure grid position and it shows the location of the satellites, but still cant get a fix.

Please can anyone shed some light onto this predicement??

This unit is junk.
When my 2000 stopped locking onto satellites I contacted magellan to have it repaired and they told me I couldn't repair it but they would give me a deal on a new unit, no thanks.
I just pulled my unit apart but I can't find anyone who supplies parts for them, anyone here aware of a source for parts?
