Hi. I am a new user to this forum and I want to know if anyone here is familiar with the Globalstar SPOT GPS/Satellite location system?

My personal use is for marine navigation purposes.

SPOT data can be polled from the Globalstar SPOT database in .xml format only.
I have a need to automatically convert/receive the data in either .GPX format or ideally in the standard NMEA format similar to that of AIS.

I want to find a way to display SPOT data in the FREE navigation program called OpenCPN using nautical charts.
It is able to receive AIS data presently through it's COM port.

Could ideally be constructed as a plug-in to OpenCPN. (There are presently several)

Grateful for any suggestions.

Tore
