Someone posted that Garmin will give a free upgrade to 2008 City
Navigator if your unit was bought less than 3 months ago, and a url to
process the request. I've lost the post, can someone repost that
information?

I don't know that the report of the free upgrade is true or not but if
you call Garmin support at 1 800 800 1020 they can probably process the
request just as quickly.

I purchased a discontinued 2610 two weeks ago and the vender stated the same
on their web site. When I contacted Garmin I received two different
answers. One said - "No, because the 2610 was a discontinued model."
Another tech said "Yes" just register at the Garmin site. I did and ordered
the 2008 update. When I get it I wonder if they will charge me to unlock it.

Hi,

I called Garmin for a c330 on 10/10 for a unit purchased on 10/8. They do
not offer free 08 maps for that Street Pilot model. It came with 07 maps.
Sorry. approx $70.
