On October 3, at 2:27PM PDT I sent the following email message to
Rayovac Corp. in Madison, WI.

"I have a Rayovac 3 in 1 battery charger Model No. PS3 and have lost the
power cord. Can I get a cord through one of your dealers or do I order
directly from the company?"

On October 3, at 12:37PM CDT, I received the following reply from their
Consumer Services Manager.

"No problem. I will send you a new cord at no charge."

When I opened my mailbox at 2PM on October 6th the new cord was there.
Now that's what I call first class service!

I like the charger because it charges all 3 Rechargeable Battery Types,
Alkaline (Renewal), NiMH, and Rechargeable NiCd, and can charge up to 8
AA or AAA, or 4C or D size batteries at a time. I use it to charge 6
NiMH batteries used in my Eagle AccuMap12 GPS.

Another company that did the same for me is Dorsey International. I
called them to find out where to buy a replacement battery for a
spotlight and they sent me one for free. I killed the battery by not
following the instructions to charge it every two months. This
battery weighs over three pounds. Probably would cost about $10 if I
had to buy it. They paid the shipping too. If possible I will buy
their products again.

Bought my GPS 176 through Cabelas. They had a "to good to be true" offer on
their website that said you got Waypoints and Lights and the Fishing Spots
(or whatever it is called) CD. The person taking the order said it was a
mistake and would not honor the offer. I ordered anyway and wrote a letter
to Cabelas complaining that they should honor any offer mistake or not. I
got a very nice phone call from Cabelas from a lady that told me they would
be sending me the CDs free of charge. That was something like a $150 offer!
While the person taking the order should have sent me the CDs in the first
place Cabelas came through in the end. It's nice to see companies like this
that appreciate their customers.

I had the download and remote cable stolen for my Ricoh (Aficio) camera when
on holiday in California.
I went into 2 dealers who told me the cable was no longer available even
though the camera was a current model.
I phoned Ricoh USA and got a most helpful lady who put me through to a
gentleman in the sales department.
I explained my problem that the cable had got stolen and needed the cable
urgently, and told him I had been into 2 stores to try and arrange the
purchase of a new one urgently for overnight delivery and don't worry about
the cost. He said leave it with me and I will phone you back in 10 minutes.
He phoned back in 5 minutes and asked where I was staying, I told him the
hotel and room number, and he said he would get one delivered that evening
to me. I asked how much it would be and if he was happy to take my credit
card over the phone. He said sir after being into two shops and them
telling you it is not available, it is free of charge. He had a dealer 10
miles away take a cable out of a new camera box and delivered it over to the
hotel I was staying at. I was amazed and delighted with the service. Our
company has since bought more Ricoh RDC-i700 digital cameras and besides
being an excellent camera they are unequalled for macro photography which we
need.
