Dear Listeners:

The 3.60 version of Garmin Vista at Garmin's site bears the name 3.60 but
really contains 3.20. I reported it to the webmaster some 2 weeks ago, but
alas, so far to no avail.

Are you sure? I am looking at the 3.60 file I download on 1st Jan
2004 and it is 1224KB last modifed on 17th Dec 2003, whereas the 3.20
fileI have is 1204KB last modified 3rd Oct 2003.

I am still actually running 3.50 as I see no reason to add Croation
language support

You may have a bum dowload.

How about other translation fixes, then? (I take it you also use
non-english in your GPS, even if most of us use english in the news
group!)

Not sure what you're doing or how the site may have changed. I downloaded
the 3.6 version on Christams day and it installed on my Vista as version
3.60. (No, I don't need Croatian, but I wanted to see how well an install
worked -- no problems.)

The file inside the self-expanding file is 1224.

The change file for v. 3.60 not only tell us that support for croatian
is added, but also: 3. Updated various translations.

So those of us who use translated versions (which versions are _not_
translated? Well, since Garmin is an american product, I guess that
"non-translated" is English or - maybe, but not likely - Spanish) have a
possibly better translation than previously. I haven't been able to see
where you post from, but from the name, you could be using spanish. I
look forward to a translation update that I have been looking for (and I
am also not using croatian, even if I'd like to be able to, but that's
another issue)

The fact that most posters to this group are using english when posting,
does neither mean that we are americans or british, nor that we use
english as our daily language.

I hope that this is an answer to your question without words!

Yep. I wasn't sure if you were commenting on my command of the
English language, which is my first (and only language). I wasn't
picking on Croatia, honest

OK.
(Mine is norwegian, but I also believe I can make myself understood in
english and german)

No, I didn't think so, either :-)
