there is no hard drive in the unit,is uses builtin flash memory to
store maps, there is also as sd slot for more storage but not needed.
the charging system uses a mini usb connector, if there is a signal on
the data pins it thinks it is connected to a computer. if just power
and no data then it charges and can be used to navigate at the same
time.
