Communicating A GoogleEarth Track?

I've got some tracks that I saved as GoogleEarth .KML files.

Short of uploading them somewhere and telling people to download
them, is there anyway to communicate them to another person
without attaching them to the message (as in no-attachment NGs
like this one)?

I'm thinking something in the spirit of a URL where the recipient
just double-clicks on it and it opens up GoogleEarth or
GoogleMaps.

A step in the right direction. Thanks.

But I still lust after something that will bring up a GoogleEarth
or GoogleMap window when the recipient clicks it.

When I put a .KLM file on a website and put a link to it on a webpage,
google eart will open for anybody who has google earth installed.
I guess if you don't have google earth installed, there is no way to open a
window with google earth.

As for the google maps, Bob informed you already about gpsvisualizer.com.
You upload your file to gpsvisualizer.com and as return you get a .htm file
to put on your webpage. Anybody clicking on this page will get a window
with google maps.

Am I overlooking something?

Now all I need is a web page.... -)

Thanks for pointing that out though. My quick trial left me with
the impression that all it produced was a bitmap.

Sounds like I need to subscribe to something like YouSendIt,
upload to there, and then give people the link to the download
page - and warn them that they need GoogleEarth installed on
their PC. I think that's gonna work for my limited use.

No, you don't!
Visualizer gives you a URL (for a limited time) which you can email.

I think you can upload it to Google Maps into your own private
map. Then you can invite other people or the whole world to
either read or even modify that map.

Not sure about the details, but have a look anyway.

Something like this?
http://maps.google.it/maps?&q=http:/...MaltaTrack.kml

Google maps allows you to link a KML file, as long as it can be
reached on the internet.
You have to upload your kml file somewhere (as I did with my example
track on my free website) and the you can build a link (the example
should be self explanatory)

The limit is that Google maps has limits in visualization of KML
object. If you just need tracks/points it's ok, but for complex
visualization you need google earth.
Google earth plugin maybe the solution to do the same things as my
example with google maps, but allowing complex kml visualization.
