There is on my V2. I think it is one of the choices offered after you
specify your destination, but I also think that you can state that you do
not wish to be asked again somewhere in the setup, in which case you will
need to request to be asked again.

Change Preferences - go to 5th Screen
Planning Preferences
Always avoid Motorways

Change preferences> Planning preferences> Always avoid motorways

or if you first select
Change preferences> Planning preferences> Ask me every time I plan
then you will be able to make a selection every time you plan a new journey
