Hi guys,
I have just purchased a new TomTom XL2 IQ routes fitted with the fairly
new style 'easyport' circular mount. The mount was already fitted to the
sat nav device in the box.
I am sure this must be quite apparant to most people, but i can't for
the life of me work out how to remove the mount from my TomTom sat nav
device.
There are no instructions on how to do this with the device. The only
instructions in the manual tell you how to fit and remove the easyport
mount from the windscreen, but not how to take it off the device.

I have tried to pull it off the back of the sat nav, but dont want to
apply too much force in fear of snapping it off!

Any information provided would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Kevtom

Just prise it off. When you unfold the suction cup section you can see a matt
plastic ring around a shiny perforated black metal disk part of the device's
body. Put a finger under the ball joint and pull the plastic ring away from
the device.

Thanks Mr Gold, I didnt realise it was supposed to be that easy.
When you say 'put a finger under the ball joint', I presume you mean
trying to put your finger in between the the ball joint and the back of
the casing of the sat nave, and then levering the ball joint/plastic
ring away??
If that is the case, how much force is required, as I cant seem to shift
it using moderate pressure.
I might have a particular tight fitting mount, as I saw an 'unboxing
video on you tube, and the ring accidently came off the back of the sat
nav, when the demonstrator merely opened out the ball joint of the mount
to demponstrate the angle of the suction cup.
Many thanks
Kevin

Just a thought. I have a navman f10 where the mount slides off (downward).
I'm wondering if it is the same for the Tom Tom.
