On my mapsource, several of the roads have '71' along the route. I've
looked at all the 'help' info and haven't been able to find out what it
means. Anyone?????????

Where are you?

If you're in Illinois, perhaps what you are seeing is actually IL, and you
happen to be looking at the map from the wrong side.

I do have a vague memory of certain points or segments being identified by
numbers when I have created maps from Google Maps, but as I said, the
memory is vague (adn old as well), so I can't really help you here.

It appears on some of the roads anywhere in the country. It appears on the
'10 mile' or closer view.

that we can use to dup the problem display

ok - did a little zooming around with Mapsource 6.15.11
and wonder if you are seeing "exit numbers" for an Interstate highway ?

they appear on the display at zoom levels - 7mi down to 2mi -
they change & go away when closer in or farther out

Mapsource version 6.16.1. With Clarksville, TN slightly above center and
the scale set at '10 miles' and the resolution on 'high', I'm seeing it on
Hwy 79 approaching Clarksville from the west as well as on I-24 all of the
way to Nashville from the state line, as well as on 'Fort Campbell Blvd'
from the north of Clarksville..

tnx - seems to be a software "issue" with version 16...
maybe thinks it's a marine map

--
Switch depth settings to fathoms and all 71's or 22's will become 12's.
12 fathoms equals 22 meters or 71 ft...

Thanks. I guess it's gratifying to learn that no one else knows what it
means either.
