I have problems when I connect my Garmin 60CS to the PC via USB. There seems
to be no established contact. The GPS interface set-up screen shows
CONNECTED, The cable symbol is shown together with the battery logo on top
of the GPS screen. The PC GPS screen is changing all the time between
"Trying Garmin format" and "Trying NMEA format" when I press Start Tracking.
The GPS SW is at level 3.2.
Any advice of what I may be missing or doing wrong?? (The data transfer of
Maps, WPs and Routes is working OK.

Appreciate any advice
Todd

you didn't tell us what PC program you are using. This is essential.

In general, if your PC program tries the NMEA format, I suppose that
you didn't set the program to use USB. For the USB connection, there
is no NMEA option.

The CONNECTED state on the GPS does not mean that it is connected to
your program. It refers to the connection to the driver software only.

When you select the "GPS" tab from within MapSource, should be seeing
two buttons labeled "Filter" and "Select Device" below the EPE and DOP
display boxes. If you don't see these buttons, scroll the window
down...you are likely running in a screen resolution lower than what
MapSource likes and the two buttons are being hidden from your view.
When you see these buttons, click on the "Select Device" button and go
from there.
